The minimum AFQT score to enlist in the Army is 31 for high school graduates and 50 for GED holders. However, most Army MOS jobs require specific line scores (GT, ST, EL, MM, etc.) in addition to the basic AFQT requirement.

The minimum AFQT score to enlist in the Navy is 35 for high school graduates. Navy ratings (jobs) have additional score requirements based on specific ASVAB subtests like AR (Arithmetic Reasoning), MK (Mathematics Knowledge), and EI (Electronics Information).

ASVAB line scores are composite scores calculated from combinations of individual ASVAB subtests. The Army uses line scores like GT (General Technical), ST (Skilled Technical), EL (Electronics), and MM (Mechanical Maintenance). Each military job (MOS, rating, or AFSC) requires minimum scores in specific composites.

MOS stands for Military Occupational Specialty. It is the code and title given to each Army and Marine Corps job. For example, 11B is the MOS for Infantryman, and 68W is Combat Medic Specialist. Each MOS has minimum ASVAB line score requirements.

Military pay is based primarily on rank and years of service, not job specialty. However, jobs with special pays include Special Forces, aviation, nuclear field, and healthcare. These roles often require higher ASVAB scores and additional training.
